so much things have happened in btwn but here’s a quick one
korea winter exchange: sightseeing in busan and seoul and trying out the camera and shit…near scare when the eye got swollen after being hit just a week before flying. good visit to the car museum and finally met up w yy and her friends…suffice to say we never got close lol prob cos we had different interests and stuff. skiing trip on bday and i didn’t really want to tell anyone, not even L. however, L wished me a happy new year even tho i never had the intention to wish anyone..and as such i sent L, J and Y a thank you friendship msg each. subsequently added them as close friends along w A which of course has more deeper thoughts etc
wemt for the countdown party at coex and it was crowded af, but it was an experience to experience a countdown live. the trip home was q chaotic as the train had closed, so we had to find a night rider bus at some other station…reached home at like 3am. snowed on new year’s day around 9am even tho the snow was q powdery and all…everything disappeared when we went to town, housemates were all sleeping at that time. about the lectures itself…the prof was q knowledgeable about his stuff and when corona 19 appeared, it became suddenly relevant. however the sessions were q chill, even the quizzes and all. i hope he’s doing well too. graduation was a rather quick affair…didn’t attend the main one proper but i sort of tagged along with vivian and her friends in order to take some decent pics. also met w marcel where we had braised chicken w noodles or sth.
fell sick on the 4th day of 2020 i think and was low key panicking about being sent to hospital…since alethea had a similar experience. had to keep drinking water and gg back to the empty house early to sleep etc. wanted to meet J at nami iand but toured it myself since he misheard the date or sth. however, we still met after both of us were well enough, along w his friends where they were out hiking and snowboarding hmm
housemates went to lotte amusement park when i had the ski trip, and somehow they met alethea also??? now they are a grp lol. as such i had to make use of my ticket and went there alone, mainly for shots and stuff. visited the korean war museum etc as i preferred historical stuff, and also a trip to the hyundai showroom lol. last few days were spent buying stuff to bring back, mostly food. it so happened that there was an airport shuttle bus at our station, and it was really convenient even tho we had to wake up at 6am. housemates left at a diff terminal but i was more than happy to spend some alone time. along the way i tried to read up on mcat notes and stuff. left seoul at 2pm and reached sg at around 8pm. upon reaching home i had to unpack most of my shit and get ready for school the very next day.
it was only a few weeks later when the corona virus made landfall, and it was fortuitous that i left just in time when the world was falling to pieces. but before that, i had the opportunity to take pics at classic motorworks. the results pushed me to the periphery and it was a stressful thing to try to keep it afloat even though it wouldn’t had worked. while studying for the mcat as well, imagine that. it was thus a godsent that the sch announced free s/u for all subjects, effectively freezing it…as such i could now focus more on the mcat since i could definitely pass the modules lol.
ntu cru was also forced to stop meeting up and we transited to zoom meetings. there were also rumours that all local students would be kicked out of halls in april, which proved true as the harsh lockdown began. online learning and exams took some time to get used but it didn’t really make a difference. strat mag was q enjoyable as vance provided most of the ideas, but the project grade wasn’t up to our expectations. audit 2 was naturally a shitty subject and i was fking happy to s/u that shit cos i definitely wouldn’t do well.
ppl were allowed to reschedule mcat for free and i pushed it to july, since i was also distracted by the uncertainty during the early days. it wss pretty brutal just revising and doing exams every week…on that day i did it, it felt good but the results were a diff story. while there was visceral improvement in chem and bio, cars fell and dragged down everything and i really felt i wasted and disappointed everyone. but i really don’t know what to do next.
d&t contacted me at long last in june to confirm my posn and of course i was glad to secure employment during this period, as i haf heard of offers being rescinded by other coys. also went for a polygraph test in march for mindef and till date they are still processing the application but whatever. after mcat i was dazed but then proceeded to use my 2 weeks to catch up on car spotting and stuff. also went to get the present for L. managed to pass it to L but somegow came earlier than expected which felt q frustrating in the other’s shoes…anyway she was happy w the gifts so there’s that
work officially started on aug 3, so it’s been 2 wks. went to collect laptop and met up with JW who was in consulting dept, where i asked him how things were like. virtual orientation on the 2nd day and shockingly i alr got arrowed to handle a client on the 3rd day??? utter madness but am still thankful for my buddy/senior who helped me to get used to the system. in total i have 25 coys now so a big rip/f or whatever
somehow i was still able to go for the cccs meet with vikram who graciously drove me there and back. it was an experience to see the rich buggers and try to know some of them although the gap was literally heaven and earth. also a good opportunity to use the camera after months of inactivity. also shot the fireworks on ndp itself after the msvcr drive off but quality was much to be desired
met up w Y who exposed me to adulting stuff…which i should have been more knowledgeable about…but it is a good start trying to build up a nest egg
who knows what’s gg to happen in the next few weeks of busy period and more adulting stuff…but i guess no one ever feels ready
